How it works

Grant databases hand you thousands of listings. We give you the short list worth your time, and show the evidence behind each pick.

1

Tell us about you

A 10-minute questionnaire covering mission, budget, location, programs and what you want funded, plus a few quick eligibility questions most databases never ask.

2

We research and verify

We find who funded organizations like yours in public IRS filings, then check every opportunity on the funder's own site: is it open, is there a real deadline, and do you plausibly qualify?

3

You get a plan

A ranked report (PDF and web) with 10–20 opportunities, a 90-day action plan, the funders already backing peers like you, and a calendar file with deadline reminders.

Questions

How is this different from a grant database?

Databases give you search results. We give you a short, ranked list that's already been checked: each opportunity is open (or has a real upcoming deadline), fits your location and budget, and links to its source. We also show which foundations funded organizations like yours, taken straight from their IRS filings.

Who is FundFinch for?

U.S. nonprofits with budgets under about $1 million and no full-time grants staff: food pantries, shelters, community arts, youth programs, free clinics and the like.

Where does the information come from?

Public sources: foundation and community-foundation websites, IRS Form 990 and 990-PF filings (via ProPublica Nonprofit Explorer), Grants.gov, and state and local funder calendars. Every listing shows its source and the date we verified it.

What's in the free mini-report?

Your top 3–5 opportunities with deadlines and fit notes, plus one or two funders that recently backed organizations like yours. It's enough to judge whether a full report is worth it.

Do you write the grant applications?

No. We do the research so your time goes to writing the strongest applications. Many clients hand the report to their volunteer or contract grant writer.

What if something in the report is wrong?

Tell us. If a deadline, amount or eligibility detail was wrong on the date we verified it, we'll fix it and re-send the report within 3 business days at no charge. Funders do change things without notice, so always confirm on the funder's site before applying.

What do you do with our information?

We use it only to prepare your report. We don't sell or share it. See our privacy policy.
